Getting Started

ORDSwatch is a hosted monitoring platform for Oracle REST Data Services (ORDS). This guide gets you from signup to your first monitored instance.

1. Create your account

Go to the signup page and fill in your details. Signing up creates:

  • Your organization (called a "tenant" internally) — this is the private workspace you and your teammates will share
  • Your admin user account — the first user is always an admin, able to invite teammates and manage billing later

2. Choose a plan

You'll pick a plan during signup:

Plan Instances Includes
Free Up to 1 Health checks, live logs, start/stop/restart, email & webhook alerts
Starter Up to 3 + team users & roles, 7-day history
Professional Up to 10 + Instance API metrics, config deploy, Duo MFA, support tickets, 30-day history
Enterprise Up to 20 included, then $8/month each + LDAP / SAML / OIDC single sign-on, 90-day history

See Billing and Plans for full plan comparison and how to change plans later.

3. Your free trial

New accounts start with a free trial (14 days by default — your account page shows the exact date yours ends). During the trial you have full access to your chosen plan's features. No credit card charge happens until the trial ends or you upgrade — you'll be prompted to add payment details before the trial expires to avoid interruption.

4. Log in

Use the username and password you signed up with — just those two fields, no organization/company name needed, ORDSwatch finds your account automatically. ORDSwatch is a single-page application — after you log in, the whole dashboard loads once and stays open; there are no page reloads as you navigate between instances, logs, and settings.

5. Enroll your first agent

ORDSwatch monitors your ORDS servers through a small agent program you install on each server. The agent connects outbound to ORDSwatch — you don't need to open any inbound firewall ports on your ORDS server.

See Agents for the full enrollment walkthrough. In short:

  1. In the dashboard, go to Agents → Enroll New Agent to generate a one-time enrollment token
  2. Install the agent on your ORDS server and paste in the token
  3. The agent registers itself and its instances appear in your dashboard automatically

6. Add your first instance

If your agent doesn't auto-discover your ORDS instance, add it manually — see Managing Instances.
