Alerts and Logs

Live log viewer

Open an instance and go to its Logs tab to see log lines streamed in as they're written by ORDS, no manual refresh needed. You can:

  • Filter by log level (error/warn/info/debug, where the log format supports it)
  • Pause the live stream to read without new lines pushing content down
  • Scroll back through recently buffered lines

Logs shown here are recent/live output. For longer-term log history, see Historical Data and Reports — note that log retention is opt-in and volume-limited by plan.

Alerts

ORDSwatch can notify you automatically when an instance's health changes — specifically when it goes down or degraded.

Webhook alerts

Configure a webhook URL under Alerts → Webhook. ORDSwatch sends an HTTP POST with a JSON payload describing the instance and its new status whenever a status change happens. This works well for Slack, Teams, PagerDuty, or any custom endpoint that accepts incoming webhooks.

Email alerts

Configure a notification email under Alerts → Email. You'll receive an email for the same status-change events as the webhook.

Who can configure alerts

Operators and admins can set up and change alert destinations. Viewers can see that alerts are configured but can't edit them. See Users and Roles.

Tuning alert noise

If an instance is flapping (rapidly toggling between up and down), you'll get an alert on every transition. Consider whether the health check path or interval needs adjusting, or use tags to group noisy non-critical instances separately from ones you want paged for immediately.
