Billing and Plans
Plans
| Plan | Instances | Includes |
|---|---|---|
| Free | Up to 1 | Health checks, live logs, start/stop/restart, email & webhook alerts |
| Starter | Up to 3 | + team users & roles, 7-day history |
| Professional | Up to 10 | + Instance API metrics, config deploy, Duo MFA, support tickets, 30-day history |
| Enterprise | Up to 20 included, then $8/month each | + LDAP / SAML / OIDC single sign-on, 90-day history |
More than 20 instances on Enterprise
Enterprise includes up to 20 monitored instances. Each additional enabled instance is billed at $8/month, as a separate line on the same subscription. ORDSwatch checks the count every hour and Stripe prorates the change, so you only pay for the extra instances while they are enabled. Disabling or removing instances brings the charge back down automatically.
Billing is monthly, managed through Stripe. All plan changes and payment details are handled through the secure Stripe-hosted portal — ORDSwatch never stores your card details directly.
Users per plan
Plans limit the people who can change or control things — admins and operators. Read-only viewers are unlimited from Starter up.
| Plan | Admin & operator users | Viewers |
|---|---|---|
| Free | 1 (a single user) | — |
| Starter | Up to 3 | Unlimited |
| Professional | Up to 10 | Unlimited |
| Enterprise | 20 included, then $5/month each ($54/year on annual billing) | Unlimited |
When a plan is full, adding an admin or operator (or promoting a viewer) is refused with a message — add the person as a viewer, or upgrade. Disabled users don't count. On Enterprise, extra admins and operators are added to your subscription automatically and prorated, like extra instances.
Your free trial
New accounts start on a free trial (typically 14 days — your exact end date is shown on Settings → Billing). You get full access to your chosen plan's features during the trial. No charge happens until the trial ends and you've added a payment method, or until you upgrade early.
Changing your plan
Settings → Billing → Change Plan. Selecting a new plan takes you through Stripe Checkout to confirm payment details (for a new paid plan) or takes effect immediately (for plan changes with an existing payment method on file). Upgrades apply immediately; downgrades typically apply at the end of your current billing period so you keep what you already paid for.
Viewing invoices and updating payment method
Settings → Billing → Manage Billing opens the Stripe Customer Portal, where you can:
- View and download past invoices
- Update your card/payment method
- Change or cancel your plan
- See your next billing date
What happens if a payment fails
If a scheduled payment fails (expired card, insufficient funds, etc.), your account enters a grace period. During the grace period:
- You keep full access to your current plan
- You'll see a banner in the dashboard prompting you to update your payment method
- ORDSwatch (via Stripe) automatically retries the payment a few times
If payment still hasn't succeeded by the end of the grace period, your account is downgraded — see below.
What happens if you cancel or your subscription lapses
Canceling (or a subscription that lapses after failed payments) doesn't delete your data. Instead, your account drops to Free-tier, read-only access:
- You can still log in and view your instances, history, and past deploy records
- You lose the ability to add instances beyond the free limit, trigger actions, or push config deploys until you resubscribe
- Historical data already collected is retained per the Free plan's terms until you either resubscribe or the account is eventually purged per the retention policy
Resubscribing at any time restores full access immediately.
